So, Where/ What is your prostate?

It sits underneath your bladder and surrounds your Urethra. Your urethra is what you use to piss and cum. The Main Job of your Prostate is to help make Semen, the fluid that carries sperm. (Important Job!)

What is Prostate Cancer?

Prostate Cancer is when a tumour grows on your prostate. It starts off small and is very curable when caught early. The issue is when it is left untreated and spreads to other areas of your body. Which is why regular checks are needed! It is more prevalent in older men from the age of 40. Probably/ Certainly older than our readers. BUT! Hey. A finger up the bum, No Harm Done! That’s one of the tests to see if you have a swollen prostate. It’s important we’re more aware of this information. Sooner we understand the better, I hope you or anyone you know is never diagnosed with it, but it is extremely important to get checked.

Difficulty in having an erection

Painful ejaculation

Blood in urine or semen

Frequent pain or stiffness in the lower back, hips, or upper thighs

How do doctors check for Prostate Cancer?

Prostate screening tests might include:

Digital rectal exam (DRE). During a DRE, your doctor inserts a gloved, lubricated finger into your rectum to examine your prostate, which is adjacent to the rectum. If your doctor finds any abnormalities in the texture, shape or size of the gland, you may need further tests.

Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test. A blood sample is drawn from a vein in your arm and analyzed for PSA, a substance that’s naturally produced by your prostate gland. It’s normal for a small amount of PSA to be in your bloodstream. However, if a higher than normal level is found, it may indicate prostate infection, inflammation, enlargement or cancer.

PSA testing combined with DRE helps identify prostate cancers at their earliest stages. Hence, debate continues surrounding prostate cancer screening.

So how do you schedule a prostate examination?

The same as any other appointment with your doctor. You can just as him or her to check your prostate, while you’re at it. Its no big deal and its nothing they haven’t done before. You might feel weird asking but, F*CK it. Just do it.
