Ladvice.ie Mission Statement
@ladvice.ie gives advice on many life topics, such as Mindfulness, Fitness, Nutrition, Finance, Travel, Dating, Motivation, Fashion, Entertainment, and general life advice. We also discuss topical news/ events that happen. These are all interrelated and can impact/ effect one’s mental health. The discussion of Mental health is something the page is trying to promote and frame in a positive light. Encouraging our followers to not only view our content but be engaged, and even more important have related meaningful conversations with other followers (Ladvice community), friends and family.
To explain further about @ladvice.ie what the page is and the content we post. The mission of this page is to promote men (or people) have more open and meaningful conversations. To talk more about their feelings and to seek advice/ help from one another to help manage their problems and improve their value of life.
The motto of @ladvice.ie is “A collaborative place for men’s advice. Let’s get talking let’s get sharing.” In order to achieve that and in order to ensure the most value is given to the people who follow it I do hope and want to encourage people to provide their opinions and support each other too!
The content we post is largely around self-assessment or ideas which are designed to aid our followers to reflect and realise aspects of their life which require change. @ladvice.ie will never claim or tell our followers “Follow these 5 steps and you will be happy forever” or “8 things you need to do to have an amazing sex life”. We realise the world isn’t Linear/ black and white. People are all different and there is no one golden ticket to an amazing life. Regardless of this we hope to make yours that bit better!
The information on this page is often information you may already be aware of. We post it to remind/ reinforce and prompt you to reflect. There is some more detailed or mental health specific advice we post which is informed from reading articles of professional psychologists/ mental health organizations, we often summarise this and distribute it in a condensed form to our followers. Followers who may not ever go and seek this information on their own. All of this aids the topic of conversation to become normalised and hopefully help people become more equipped talk about or interested in the topic.
To Clarify the founder of @ladvice.ie, @nathanmcaloon is not in any way a qualified professional in the realm of Mental Health or Psychology, nor does he claim to be a life guru who has all the answers (Nobody does). He has experienced his own mental health struggles which are touched on in another post. Go check it out if you haven’t seen it yet.
We do not believe you have to be a mental health expert to speak about mental health or a well-established successful person who’s proven himself over and over again to give life advice.
We do encourage our followers to seek help if they need it and you will see this from our posts. We do this by encouraging conversations and discussions with your family, friends, counsellors or a mental health organisation.
Going forward there will be more of the same and more improvements. One change you may see coming soon is the release of a podcast and YouTube series as well as looking to get more engagement and involvement from followers. There will also be more expert and professional advice referenced on the page!
Thank you so much for joining us on this journey. We hope you get value from the content we post. Going forward let’s grow together and let’s tackle the stigma of what it means to be a man or a lad. Let’s eradicate “Lad Culture” and help define what it means to be a modern man!
Let’s get talking, let’s get sharing!
Lots of love,
@ladvice.ie
