Building Resilience
As mentioned, it is a skill that can be developed over time. But, here is something to start you off on the right track to building resilience and handling stress. I will now ask you to do some things to help work through an example of some coping mechanisms to help you become more resilient.
If you think of some difficult things that have happened in your life of something which had a negative impact on you.
Many of you will believe that the negative effect is associated with that event or trigger.
When in reality, it is your reaction to the event or trigger that causes the negative effect.
Handling Stress
As we were told when we were younger. “Sticks And Stones May Break My Bones But Names Will Never Hurt Me” Lets look into that a little deeper.
Physical Pain, noted if something happens which causes physical pain, it is unfortunate and there is not much you can do to nullify that. – We can go through this later in the article on how benefit can be turned into a positive outcome or long term benefit.
However, if we look at the following circumstances:
Other peoples actions, what they do or say or how they treat you.
Personal Circumstance: Financial Trouble, Living Situation, Score in a test, Personal Belongings Etc.
You do have a choice for how to react/ respond when it comes to that.

How will this help you achieve your goal of Building Resilience and Handling Stress?
It is easier said than done and the concept is fantastic, but of course in practice it can be more difficult. The intent to apply this to real life situations will benefit you so much.
Even applying these in hindsight is great, it gives you so much perspective on life and circumstances/ events that unfold. It can make a problem you made out to be such a massive issue seem so small.
